Calling on Florida COs
Rob:
Just my .000002, this thread is for the CO’s to come up with a plan for the next Florida Super Meet. I say let it mature or die out. If it matures and the missing three COs decide to contribute constructively then the Florida crew wins, else the Florida crew will see who the lamoes are. At that point you and the other participating CO(s) can get with those of us who will assist and make the next Florida Super Meet happen. Let’s give this thread until July 15 and then make the call. By then there will be no excuse for the remaining CO’s that they didn’t see this thread. I am fighting HARD, REALLY F'n HARD to keep this constructive but as you said: "Now it is time to put up or shut up" and the only way I know how to deal with this is to identify the problem and eradicate it in order to achieve the goal, the Florida Super Meet.

Elroy, it seems you are picking on the COs to come up with something. They have! Too many times people want things like this to happen but are not willing to step up to the plate and help.
Everyone who wants this meet should do the footwork to try and make it happen, present the ideas in a forum or PM, and go from there. The COs have jobs and are very busy people. I think they have done a good job and are not apprieciated for the volunteer position they do.
Just my 2 cents!

im confused. Are CO's required to plan a supermeet? What are the guidelines for becoming a CO? Are they just supposed to plan things for their own community?
It sounds like the majority of the people complaining about not having a super meet are the Tampa people. Why dont we (tampa) just continue business as usual and plan things that others could attend but does not require their attendance?
Dont get me wrong, I would love to have a supermeet, but if we dont, then so be it.
I think trying to "call out" the other CO's is not the way to approach this at all, it just divides us further.

Well ... from what I can see ... there are only a few of us here showing any real interest (less than 20 that I can see.)
I agree ... the production shouldn't start by a CO process (or need to be.) I say go back to the basics and do a survey/poll of the community. Let's ask them if they (as a majority) even want a state-wide super-mega meet.
And, additionally, I think it would be nice to make it as SIMPLE as possible. Sure, place the meet location at a central point of entertainment options. But, try to keep on point with the fundamental "let's just get together" kinda philosophy. Do NOT require payment or pre-registration. Let the product and community response be the driving method of realizing a great 'product'.
You guys just say the word and I would be happy to start a thread asking for ideas about dates, locations, and activities and will compile the data to find where the majority of the community finds value.

there are just too many martyr's around here for this so called supermeet religion.
it just seems silly to say "we are off the table" when there was one failure. There are other people in this community that would love to have another meet, you seem to be forgetting about us.
the problem is, the focus should be on the people who want this to happen, not keep giving the stage to those that dont.
