Hmmmmm....path of extensive quietness. Seems like a road traveled just not too long ago.

I am regretfully stating what I've heard a quite a few times from the local community. The Super Meets normally are held slightly more south Florida than most of the Pan Handlers and Jacks owners are willing to travel.

I know it is all about location and I completely agree that only so many places are available but, I would feel like I wasn't doing my job if this went unsaid.

What can we do to improve upon this situation?

Altered perception perhaps?

I'll probably get jumped all over but the last selected venue was 120 mi from Tampa, 84 mi from Jax, 158 mi from Tallahassee. And that whole deal fell through.

So where do these folks that say these things say it should be that they would be willing to travel?

As many know I will travel just about anywhere for an S2000 gathering. I have traveled to AL, AZ, CO, MA, CT, throught out FL, and several times for the Dragon. I do this for the love of the vehicle and friendship. So as far as I am concerned, just say where, when, and what dates.

I agree with Cosmo rockit, the last venue although arranged by Tampa/St Pete members, was well north of Tampa in Gainesville. There are plenty in all areas that are willing to drive for a mega, super whatever title meet. I have personally gone to 3 Kami meets in the Orl area and was one of the handful that paid for the Gainesville meet too. Being able to enjoy the S2000 I own includes driving the S. The last big meet we did have included a GREAT group drive that had 4 groups leave the meet location at different times and ran the selected course in opposing direction. Just looking for some input from EVERYONE. It was asked to allow ALL to partisipate in decision making and that is what we are looking for here. If we get no input than it will be up to the same people as previously have done , to put another meet together.

This is an invitation to ALL S2000 owners. We have had people from TX, VA, and further bring their S to these meets so to have it set up in a Central part of the state anda have travelling as a reason not to attend in my opinion, not a good reason My next get together(with the S) is going to take me at least an hour and change to et to!

The last attempt was going to be held in Ocala which is over 2 hours away from location of the people planning that particular event and much closer to the panhandle and Jax area than ever before. How close do you need it to be??

let's say we host it in....IDK....Destin....what happens to dade county? What about the rest of the state that now has to travel 5-7 hours to attend?

SFL "Brings it" every time we do anything. Their starting bid for travel times to the many events they have come out to is 4-5 hours....That’s what I am talking about.....

the object of a super meet is to offer a large event to the entire state. We will never be able to please everyone with location or theme or anything like that.

I am perfectly fine with the notion that: whoever spearheads the project itself... specifies where it is going to be held.

It is up to the people attending to decide if it is worth the effort or not

Florida is a loooooong state, I understand this but, we have to host the event somewhere and most of you dont know the limitations on being able to plan and produce an event when it is to occur hundreds of miles away from your base of operations.

I plan and produce events for my company all over the US. There is a reason people get paid big money to be off-site event planners......

The best solution for you to satisfy your community’s unwillingness to travel: host a statewide event yourselves and do it at a location close enough to allow them to attend.

This is the kind of stuff I/we have been talking about. Nothing is ever going to get off the ground or happen at all until people STOP thinking about themselves and start wanting to do (or be a part of) something bigger than themselves.

Logic dictates that the meet should be held some where geographically close to the center of the state...to me that seems to be the I-4 corridor unless you want to park on top of a cow patty in the middle of a pasture somewhere. LOL....If this logic is sound, is Jax or the Panhandle or SFL going to want to plan and produce that event?

I would have to say that if you want an event like this at a location "convenient" to you and your community, you would have to pick the reins and "just do it".

The problem with the last location ... is it WAS on top of a cow-pattie!

No matter how central Ocala is ... no one wants to visit my hometown ... that was the real issue

Maybe I need to offer a group drive through Hog Valley, Eureka and Scrambletown to entice people to come to Ocala
