Default catalytic converter

Anybody removed the catalytic converter? Last track day i burned a quart of oil, didnt have a catch can. Anyway since then gas mileage has dropped about 5 mpg. Thinking i may have contaminated the converter and was going to replace it with a test pipe. Anybody tried this yet?

There's several people around running a test pipe and I think most people have had good luck with it. I have one, but I just haven't installed it yet. I'm sure someone more knowledgeable than me will chime in soon.

Several people have them. PM someone like Speedy and see what he is using to keep the CEL from coming on. Some people use the part to prevent oil foling the plugs on older cars. Available at all parts stores.

Hey Speedy those rotors look like my Sub Zero Cryo-treated ones.

i recommend getting a cel fix- evasive sells the t1r o2 sensor simulator for 40 but i am pretty sure you can find them for around 30 on other sites. can't remember off the top of my head who else makes them.

I just took a set of anti fowlers and drilled them. There is a thread somewhere telling you which ones to buy and how to drill them. Really simple project.

I've had a couple different setups:

Stock exhaust + strait testpipe = loved it
Comptech exhaust + strait testpipe = hated the sound
Comptech exhaust + resonated testpipe = love it and it shoots purdy flames

Berk test pipe with built in cel fix FTW. Gained about 6-7whp on back to back dynos. Half the cost of the high flow cat and no smells. Didnt really effect the exhaust note that much either.
