Day trip to Titusville
So yesterday my GF and I drove down to Titusville to meet my parents (who drove up from Ft. Lauderdale) for lunch at Dixie Crossroads. The weather of course was gorgeous so we took the S for the almost 2 hour cruise down there.
Aside from being a bit on the windy side at times it was simply an amazing drive. Made sure to put a couple of coats of Bullfrog on my face and arms, but forgot to get my chest and neck so now I have a nice little "red triangle" on my chest from where my shirt was open.
Traffic was nice and smooth on 95 goin' South, but as we were heading down traffic was really backed up bad heading Northbound for some unknown reason (made a mental note of this for the return trip).
Got to Dixie Crossroads(to which I had never been before), and proceeded to devour almost 2 dozen fried boat run shrimp, and so many hushpuppies I lot count!
After lunch I gave each of my folks a quick ride in the S (they hadn't seen it yet). My mother who is 69 got the leisurely spin around the block, but my dad got a little bonus ride which introduced him to
...his comment: "Its just amazing that a 4 cylinder can get up and move like that!"
The quote of the day went to my mother who upon spying the Engine Start button proclaimed, "Ooooh...a start button....its like what the NASCAR's have!"
I decided to take US1 for the return trip remembering all the traffic I saw earlier. We cruised all the way North through Daytona, and when we hit 95 I could see that traffic had cleared so we got back on.
Anyhow, I just wanted to share my story. It was a great day...top down, beautiful riding shotgun, good food and family...what more could I ask for!
