things looking up. checked the codes. P2647 someone mentioned a VTEC selonoid...but, would it make the car all crazy like that?

 

it can ... because if it engages VTEC at a lower RPM than designed it would cause a lean condition (valve lift and duration increase but the ecu doesn't compensate with fuel) and then a rough idle/low RPM operation. Just a guess though.

 

what about the clanking? it really sounded like something was loose. guess im going to replace this part.


too bad the local honda dealership wants 69$ for it, when its MSRP is 60. what a bunch of scum bags.

 

Did the new solenoid fix the problem? I have the exact same issue and the dealer has no idea what to do about it!
