i actually watched an officer walk out into a cross-walk to slap the hood of a car because they didn't yeild to the pedestrians! The look on the drivers face was priceless! Talk about stealth technology!

The Hondas' you guys saw are either county or city depts.
Thanks GP! Whats with the city cops pulling ppl over on the highway. I thought that was trooper jurisdiction.

It all depends on dept policies. A city cop can pull you over anywhere they want within their jurisdiction, same goes for county. Outside their jurisdiction they can also pull you over depending on the severity of the "situation".

If some guy is cutting people off left and right driving like he's on crack going 100 mph and some cop that is waaaaay out of his jurisdiction sees him, he's obligated as a law enforcement officer to do something about it and radio in to his/her dispatch what is going on and have his dispatch contact the dept with the jurisdiction he/she is in. I've seen Broward guys pull drunk drivers over in Miami-Dade with Miami-Dade responding. Again, it also depends on their depts policies.

It happens even in California.

CHP uses confiscated Honda S2000's in Traffic Enforcement.

[QUOTE=GranPrix,Dec 9 2008, 12:14 AM] Guys, don't worry about FHP having these type of cars as undercover cars because they do not have them. They have very strict policies against this within the dept. The only cars FHP uses for undercover work is the Charger and Crown Vic.

As far as confiscated vehicles, this is what they do with them:

The FHP Auxiliary uses these for shows and recruitment.

Ahh I know alot of the locals do, but not sure bout the FHPs policies, but arent they under the same jurisdiction? This I do not know...

They are resorting to this more and more because they got shot down on putting up speed cameras. This is still alittle better than the cameras, seems florida legislation is alot smarter than the states using cameras because those cameras push alotta cops outta work.

Its still deceptive and still robbery, but its a revenue scheme and most of the cops are no smarter than monkey see monkey do, the shapes match so i get a bananna.

Just dont speed so they eventually choke on their own ignorance, but if they are not making money, speed limits will begin to drop. So yallz F-ed either way.
