First Dyno Run
Finally got my STi tuned today by Doug from TopSpeed. Great guy, very cool and professional.
Current engine mods as follows: Cobb 4 inch downpipe with high flow cat, Cobb 3 inch catback exhaust, K&N Typhoon intake, Mad Dad Ver. 2 Unequal length header and up-pipe, ACPT Carbon Fiber driveshaft, and Cobb Version 2 Access Port.
After working out a problem with an old AC flash on the ECU from the previous owner, requiring a creative ECU reflash, Doug got underway. I went for a somewhat conservative tune the first time out, so my numbers weren't too outrageous, but definately respectable.
At 18 psi I'm pushing 292.7hp at the wheels and 330 lb/ft of torque at the wheels, for a gain of nearly 50hp and 85 lb/ft at the wheels. From what I understand Subaru's have a driveline loss of about 25-27%, which equals some pretty good crank numbers over stock.
Next mods are a ProSpeed boost solenoid to get boost pressure over 20 psi, new fuel pump, bigger injectors, bigger intercooler, and of course a bigger turbo. Next time I'm hoping to see a little over 400hp at the wheels. Either way, this car feels so much better than my S2000 ever did, and has a trunk that I can fit 5 dead hookers in.
