I believe it's something more like "If life gives me lemonade, I'll find someone who life gave them vodka...", etc. etc.

At least the engine didn't implode on you... sounds like it's repairable without replacing the bottom end.

Rob, sorry to hear that. Since I know nothing about what's going on but if you ever need someone to deliver a drink or hold a wrench, I will always be there for you.

Sorry that happened to you man, hopefully everything gets fixed easily. I would have helped push the car as well if I was there.

Rob my thoughts are with you on this.
This coming from someone who is still there fixing a spun number 4 rod bearing.
I hope it is not a main bearing.

Good luck bro.

All the mains look good, rod bearings that is a different story. All the bearings are being replaced, obviously but the crank actually looks good!!!!. I think I dodged a bullet here!!!

I need real input on whether or not the Hondata Gasket is worth it or not. The reasons I think it would be good for me is because of all the traffic I am in (70 miles of commuter hell each day). If yes then, are the knock off thinner gaskets they have on EBAY any good??? the reason I ask that is they are a tad thinner and I can re-use my bolts/studs. With the hondata one, you have to get longer bolts.

Seriously what are the benefits of this gasket and is it worth the cost? DO you notice it??

Thanks
RoB

yes yes & yes.

the hondata gasket keeps the car runing much cooler. In Florida it should be required by law for all s2ks in traffic IMO.

Here's a cooling mod thread. Keep in mind that XViper lives in O Canada. Chiung lives in Daytona. You will reach three bars no problem.

hope this helps!

If my engine was already torn down, I'd get it. The benefit is less heat soak, which means less lost power. Also consider the gasket for the TB to bypass the coolant, same type of gain.

The thinner gasket should present little difference... it's heat transfer between block and header that's of concern, and the gasket material is mostly what prevents that.
