Your car does have a way with words. That is for sure a true statement.

 

I am jealous! I was thinking about designing a wireless PTT a la flight yokes, or going crazy and integrating it into the steering wheel contact ring, like the cruise control buttons.

How did you wire yours up? Do you have one of these "throat mics" ? They sound pretty cool too.

 

I do not have the throat mike (although I would like to try one). I have a Motorola boom mike headset that is very comfortable but I had to use the PTT on the radio to make it work. I have played with the steering wheel PTT and it will not work with any of my headsets that have a PTT integrated in them ( I need to figure that one out)

The button has a long wire and just velcros to the steering wheel ( small velcro strap wraps around one of the spokes). I wouldnt want to do lock to lock turns with it attached but for normal driving it works fine. It will get a 30-40 hour workolut so I will be able to report better after the trip
