Default I can't believe it!

I am finally getting my car back.

I got a new ACT clutch put in, a new rearend, and the short shifter all at the same time. It never did shift good into 5th and 6th. Troy remembers that. I thought it was the short shifter. I put the original shifter back in. Still didn't shift good.

Tampa Hondaland said the tranny was bad and they wouldn't cover it since my car was supercharged. I got an used 3k 2004 tranny installed by them. Same problem. They said that one was bad. After a long talk about the huge coincidence and reiterating about the short shifter and the new clutch, I elected to have them rebuild the 04 tranny since it is a better tranny and it was going to be cheaper than rebuilding the 01 tranny.

They installed a new shift fork, gears and syncros for 5th and 6th. Same problem. Even the mechanic admitted that there was nothing wrong with the 04 original gears. After three weeks of messing with it the mechanic found that when the clutch was put in Racing Intregration, who did the clutch, they put the shifter guide in backwards. What should have taken 45mins and no lift turned into what was going to be over 4k.

I get the car back tomorrow with a rebuilt 04 tranny and all I am paying for is a tranny swap. $680. I pay that because the syncros were worn on the 01 tranny.

It has almost 30k on it an I'm sure the first 13k on the car's life were very hard. It pays to talk to the mechanic and not the sales rep, if you can. The sales rep is nice but I got the real poop from the mechanic. Saved me lots of money.

I am still going to have the 01 tranny rebuilt by someone else and Deep cryogenically treat every part in case someone wants a bullet proof racing tranny.

How long have you been without your car (again)? I knew you were going to have work done, but I didn't know you still didn't have your car!

I am still using that awesome shifter knob!

I was without my car for three weeks during the AEM computer, wideband O2 sensor, conversion. Good mod!

Now I have been without my car for three weeks for the transmission problem.

Both times I have only missed it for about a week since I was gone the rest of the time. I get it back at 8:30 in the morning and leave at 11:00. Good timing.

I will be home a lot more now that I have a better schedule!!!!!!!

Lets party!!!

Yep, I had just picked it up at Hondaland and was taking it home to the garage. I am in Detroit now but when I get back I have to take to Hondaland. First through fifth are like glass. Sixth gear is not right. The syncro is not working right. Fifth and sixth gears, shift fork, and syncros are all brand new. Man am I tired of this crap.

You can definitely tell a difference with the better gear rations in the 04 tranny.
