I believe it's possible to pull that hp and tq just from tuning the car with aem. The S runs so pig rich from the factory it's ridiculous. The increase in power around VTEC is because it was lowered, and from what i can see from the chart it should be lowered a little bit more. But once again we were talking about not seeing an increase on boosted cars because of the limitations of the head.

AEM base maps are just that, BASIC. They MAY get your car to start and that's about it. I don't know anyone who just loads a map and drives. It doesn't work that way. If you're going to buy an AEM setup, you must have a tuner set it up and tune it. I would never run a car on just a base map.
Exactly! I have seen a dyno showing over 10 hp gain across the board with just AEM and wideband alone. I like ITB's but gears are the best bang for the buck. That said ITBs are cool and sound sweet but say 1k ITBs, 1k AEM, 500 for tuning.

$2500. On the very low scale. Too much for too little.

I'm gonna put that to the test. My AEM EMS with wideband comes in friday. I'm gonna do a baseline dyno, a dyno after I get it tuned, and then get fuji's ITB's and tune it again.

I'll be giving 2nrwerks a call once my 'puter comes in.

I can't wait to see to see the results. Are you going to Dyno stock, then with a tuned AEM, and then tuned with ITBs?

Same Dyno as close together as possible. That gives the best results. 2NRWERKS is definitely the place.

Yup. I have a baseline that I did back in April, but I'm gonna do another baseline there first (after a valve adjustment), then do the AEM on the stock motor same day if possible (at least same visit), then AEM w/ ITB's once they come in. I can't wait to see the results

Damn! I was really hoping to see these! Oh well, I'll just have to make the drive up to your shop to see them when you get them in, if that's cool...

I apologize in advance if this is a stupid question or if it's been answered before, but what do you do for an air-cleaner with ITBs?

Just curious...

You don't run in dirty environments

Typically you'll see individual socks over each horn. At shows, people often place racquetballs on a string into them to prevent people stuffing crap down the horn as they walk by.

they do that or they put mesh's on top. Or they do make plennums for it as well.

Jimmy mentioned that you could probably build an airbox around the horns. I'd do that, because the socks don't really catch too much. I'd probably have a plenum with a regular filter for street driving, then use socks while autocrossing.
