Rebuilding Hydro locked Engine
I hydro locked my car last month and i got it to the shop and they gave me an estimate of $75 and hour and to rebuild it will take roughly 25 hours, so they are charging me $1850 in labor. Is this a fair price?
They are going to take the engine out, figure out whats wrong with it, and replace whatever is screwed... hoping i dont need an entirely new engine

whether you buy a new bottom end or not:
hit up the miami crew in the SFl forum above and see if there are legit performance shops they use that offer competitive pricing. Shops are pretty much hungry and would IMHO work with you on that price.
I dont know how deep they would go but you have negotiating power at non-dealer shops.

I agree ... I would rather have a used factory/OEM short block than a rebuilt one. That may not be fair to some shops ... but, rebuilding bottom ends is, in my opinion, more of an 'art' than just a science.
I've rebuilt several B-series motors ... but, it was quite the task and I consider myself lucky to not have had any problems. So long as you are sticking with a stock set-up/power ... I'd suggest buying OE ... used or new
good luck weighing all the options ... it's never easy.
EDIT: I would have to say that considering the level of OE quality I've seen and heard about ... the only exception would probably be LHT in Tampa. That's presuming they even do that kind of work

So what should i look to buy? A new short block? Ill post it on the threads now, just tell me what i should be asking for; Short Block
New or used depends on your budget. But, if you like saving a few bucks buy a used block from a total-out/accident with low miles. Maybe even an F22 block if you have an F20 head
