DAMMIT I swear, I used to get mad at thieves but now I'm starting to get mad at you guys. You read about it here every week, you see it in the news, and it even happened to you once already, and you STILL don't have a good alarm and seat locks??? How can there possibly still be people in this site leaving their S2000s outside unprotected?

wow ... so thieves will know if you have seat locks?!?

I'm sure a thief would be happy to ruin your seats if they can't get them out ... and will take anything else. Alarms are somewhat dated anymore ... atleast based on so many annoying 'false' alarms going off. I'm not saying they don't help ... but they are not usually a full deterent.

Personally ... i'd rather use my 'home brew' version of deterents and then if that doesn't work ... i just rely on my insurance to cover the damage. Honestly ... the seats and top are two major wear items on this car ... if the insurance is going to help pay for either to be replaced ... works for me. my 2cents.

Save the money on a hardtop and rent out a garage in your apartment complex/condo. Unless you want both your seats AND hardtop to be gone in the morning.

A hardtop is not going to prevent them from stealing your seats AND your hardtop.

Agreed, but wasting money every month "renting" a storage is not going to protect you when you need to go out. A hard top will surve more of a purpose especially for me since I'm hardly ever at the house!

Also, the main point of entry for these theives has always been threw the soft top, so yes a hard top will help prevent theft but you can never be rid of it entirely. If someone really wants your car they will find a way to take it.

It was done while I was at my girlfriends, so no garage there. The worst part is that I talked to her apartment complex that afternoon about getting a garage and they won't have one for me till Friday.

Yes I am an idiot for leaving it outside, I should of known better, but still sucks.

But last time it was done at the movie theater, its not like I am going to get a garage there.

One of my friends had seat locks and they slashed his seats, I don't really want to go that route.

and people keep saying the thieves will trash your seats but i have not yet to hear this happen to one member yet. Worst case is you get your top cut. $60 for seat locks is worth it. It's like having a civic with a gsr motor. You cant leave it out or someone will steal it

Soooo, my car was broken into again, seats stolen.

It happened Tuesday night/wednesday morning, right after NBC decided to teach everyone how easy it was to steal S2000 seats and how much they are worth on Ebay.

Pics coming soon.

I talked with my insurance, they are PISSED.

Should have bought the seat locks that Kodokan 4 sells . I leave the top down in my car when I go alot of places , that is as long as I will not be away from the car to long . Makes it easy to see the locks and the asshole dont cut the top to find that out . Its f-in BS none the less .

I have yet to see or hear that the seats where slashed because they where locked . They are 66 bucks or so . Besides the insurance company would be happier to have to reskin the frames than to have to replace everything
