what does F stand for?
To each his own. Lexus' are a bit to feminine for me. Its too much of a wifes car. Safe, yes. Reliable, yes. But definitely not for me. Bandiscoot, have u looked at the Lexus LX? Its got a camry front with a Bangle Butt. Even the new S class has a little bangle butt.
He's acknowledge that the rest of the world have copied his design cues and now he's moving on.
If you follow BMW closely you would know that they are under-going design changes. See the CS concept. The next-gen 7 series will be very beautiful.
Everyone can rag on the company's styling all they want. It dosent bother me as much as it use to. The fact remains that they are a VERY aggresive car company. I respect that. I would like to thank INFINITI personally for the N54. Without the G, it wouldnt be here. The majority of their cars feel great behind the wheel. It amazes me that a base 7series can stop in the same distance from 70mph as a Lotus Elise. It amazes me that a Alpina B7 will be side by side with an Audi R8 straight to the 12.8 quarter mile and then PULL on it thereafter. It impresses me that an M3 will be the cheapest out of the RS4, C63, CTS-V, IS-F.
I dont care what anybody says, they are worlds largest premium automaker for a reason. They shoved a twin-turbo 3.0 6cylinder into a tiny ass 1 series. Who the hell does that?
Let me quote a crazy ass fanboy from LLN:
"They DICTATE design and automotive direction as opposed to following, or catapulting names and shapes hoping for something to stick. There are a handful of companies that can steer the car world in any direction they want-- BMW is one of them"
My worthless .02

I think you're on crack. This is the most powerful car to ever come out of Japan...the chief engineer on the project is none other than Yukihiko Yaguchi, the genius behind the evolution of the Supra. He snuck this project through under the watchful radar of Toyota, and made a sports sedan that will flat throw down with its Bavarian competitors. I saw the car at the intl autoshow, and I loved every inch of it, save for the exhaust tips. This car has a 2 stage intake manifold that opens up the entire top at WOT above 3600 rpm, creating a monstrous howl unlike anything that's ever rolled out of a Japanese production facility. This car oozes testosterone. It's the car that "tuners" graduate to.
I love it.
I love it.
More to the point, you may certainly disagree with my opinion about the car's looks, but your mentioning the horsepower of the car, its driving potential, etc., really does nothing to rebut my comments about the car's aesthetics, or more properly, the lack thereof--hormones notwithstanding.
In any event, this is America, and you have every right to your opinion. It is good to see Lexus market a car to those whose stylistic sensibility would undoubtedly judge the Pontiac Aztek a high point in automotive design. For me, I think Lexus has its work cut out shifting these cars to people who might cross shop it with any number of German performance sedans and coupes.
I have a dog biscuit addiction.........
let's not forget the reliability factor for Lexus. They always beat BMW in the JD Powers surveys.
IMHO I think it looks better than the current m3.
Just a question: Does it have AWD? I saw a reference to AWD in the history section but the specs say rear wheel drive. If indeed it is AWD.....this car will be going to NM with me in the future.
