what does F stand for?
F was the designation that Toyota used for the models it was going to sell with its Lexus badge. The stylized F also is patterned after several of the turns at the Fuji track which is used by Toyota in much of its high speed and performance testing. It will be used on future models, hopefully better looking ones too, which are more performance oriented, much as BMW uses the M designation, Merc the AMG designation, Caddy the V-type, etc.

Lexus definitely put their foot in their mouth on pricing. It costs $2,000 more than the BMW M3 Sedan. Lexus' have been undercutting BMW prices by thousands for a long time now.
tsuchiya's comment about the IS-F was
'seemed to be made by someone apparently that have never driven
a FR.' which is not a compliment.

Hell I think the only option on the ISF is navi.

1. The M3 comes with Xenons
2. The M3 comes with Power Seats
3. The M3 comes with a CD Player
4. There is no charge for SUNROOF in the coupe
5. The M3 comes with a leather/cloth combo.
Also, the base price of the IS-F including the DPH fee is $56,775. The base price of the M3 Sedan including delivery and handling is $54,575. That is a $2200 difference for those of us that fell asleep during math class.
Tack on the Premium Package and the metallic paint and that is $2300 right there.

The M3 is available with a sun roof? I thought that the roof on the M3 was made of carbon fibre and was therefore unavailable with a sun roof. Am I wrong?

Yes you are wrong. BMW offers a sunroof FREE of charge on the coupes if you want one. But there goes your sunroof and 12lb in weight savings up top...lol
wow, that is crazy. I'm sorry, but, if i were BMW i would not be offering up someone the chance to cut up a carbon fibre roof just for a sunroof. But, i guess you gotta make the customer happy.
Bandiscoot, they don't cut the carbon fibre. Im not even sure if that's possible. The sunroofed models are just made of normal metal like the other 3series. To be honest, im one of the few that would feel weird droppin 55k on a car without a sunroof. I don't care what performance benefits are.
