Detail Day Question
I'm new to the S2000 community so I have no experience with the detail/install days. I'd like to see what can be done with the paint on my car. My question is what do I need to do, what do I need to bring, how much cost is involved? I'm not looking for something for nothing...just asking what is expected of me.
Thanks,
Mark

As far as the paint goes, deep blue can work magic with the porter cable. You can bring your own products or someone is usually selling the use of theirs. There is a lot that we can do because the facilities are quite extensive and get better every year.
What about me??Between Dan and I we will work wonders with your car. It's really hard to say what needs to be done until we "inspect" it in person. You can bring your own supplies and/or use ours. We use professional products that are quite pricey. We do buy them in bulk and give the discount back to the group. If you have supplies bring it, but dont buy anything. See what we use and then adjust from there.
On detail days we do a thorough wash, clean roof, shine leather, clean all vynal, and work with a four coat polish, wax, sealer. We also use additional polymere additives to get double bang/shine for the buck. Depending on what you want to do, it will run between $30-$50. Shops will charge in excess of $250 or more for similar results. Ask anyone thats gone through the process. Check out these reflections.
We're real easy and will work with you to do whatever you need. Hope to meet ya in March
Those first 3 pictures Mike shows are the refletions off the hood of the cars from a detail day... If you dont have microfiber towels that would be the number one thing to bring we run through them pretty fast and you will need them for yourself after detail day.. The cost Mike is talking about is simply to replace products used, we just like making cars look like the ones in those pictures. We all help one another on detail day.. You will learn a lot.
