Default New St. Louis Owner

Hey all,
My name is Zach and I'm currently studying mechanical engineering at St. Louis University. I just picked up a Lotus 7 kitcar and an S2000 drivetrain out of a totaled car. While I'm mechanically inclined, I don't know a thing about Honda motors and wouldnt mind some help! My project is located over in Edwardsville, IL and here are a few things i'm doing to it: Dry sumping the motor, simplifying the coolant lines, machining the bellhousing down.

If anyone in the STL area knows the F20C motor WELL and would like to give me a hand ,drop me a PM, I'd greatly appreciate it!

Yessir. My kit is made by a company called Coveland Motorsports. It's all mandrel-bent round tubing instead of the traditional square tubing. Slightly lighter and MUCH more rigid. It's made for a Miata drivetrain, but I'm doing a hybrid of a S2000 motor/trans and a Miata differential. Target weight is 1300lbs.

That will be an awesome ride, wish I could help. Post some pics when and if you can.

I am really excited about it. If all goes to plan it'll be making 5.2lb/hp, which is supercar territory. It'll take me a LONG while to finish it, I'm planning for about 2 years. I'm currently making a website for it with a gallery and build log, so stay tuned!

There is a few knowledgeable members here, but you may be better off posting in the under the hood section on the main forum. This project would definately garner some interest and you will probably get all your questions answered.

I think it is a great idea and I have heard of this swap being done on thhose ccars. I think there are only a handful of them with F20C's in the states. Please keep us updated!

cool!

with SlipAngle79 - specialized questions will be better answered in the "under the hood" forum. That being said - I'm sure there are several in the area that would love to see your project through.

Keep us posted!
