Let's just say I've learned never to use the cruise control in the rain again.

The car began to spin itself out on the highway (around a small bend, but basically just going straight, and a little uphill). I was able to get back in control and correct it, but was too close to the guardrail and when then rear end snapped back it hit. Put a big rail height crease down the rear quarter panel and smashed the side of the taillight housing. Broke the rim of one of my wheels too, so took some work to get back home.

I'll never trust electronic driving aids again, that's for sure
Sorry to hear about your misfortune

No, it's no where near that bad....just feels like it

I went and got an estimate this morning, it was much lower than I thought it would be. I don't think I'm going to get insurance involved. I can cut even more off the cost by doing my own prep work and brining some of my own parts.

It figures that with all the racing and hard driving I do, I would actually bang the car up while cruising straight on the highway

I had a jeep go up once like this. I had an extinguisher with me but the hood latch pulled out in my hands. the extinguisher was not enough to put it out from underneath or the wheel wells. sometimes it is just tough to prevent... I feel your pain though.

Well here's a little update. Duane talked to Fram today. They're sending out a claim package for us to fill out. We have to send in the filter to them to examine. Once they determine if it was the filter we go from there. If they take responsibility for it then they assign a claim adjuster. So here's to crossing our fingers!!!!
