WOW!!! Is this a Joke?
You went from Computer Engineering starting salaries 50~60k to a communications major lucky to be working McDonalds at $6 an hour.
And in doing so lost out on a full scholarship!
Damn you got to have some big bawls. Good bye to the S and never seeing it again. Sorry man if this is a little harsh but damn!!!!!

This is the type of person you meet on the street, that thinks making money is the only happiness there is. Big ego, because they have decent job making money, but they have nothing else in their life but material possessions to be proud of.
Another S owner that must think the S2000 is gods gift to car kind and walks with his head the size of a watermelon when he drives around town with his top down, thinking he's the hottest tamale in the city.

It was harsh, but I think at first blush we all think giving up that free ride isn't the best choice. But my life experiences tells me, along with the heart, that Carlo is making a decision he can live with. His choice. His alone. Except maybe parents that have a vested interest in his decisions.
Good luck Carlo, don't look back or have regrets.

Nice effort Carlo
. There are maaaaaaaany folks doing very well in communications majors. I'm sure I pass them every day on the highway...and not necessarily through the McD lines
. Do what you like doing in this life. In that decision, you will not only enjoy what you do, but those around you will enjoy you more as well. Bitterness comes from not having the opportunity to do what would have made one happy. You're right to follow your heart/strengths. These feelings will serve you well in the long run.
That said, keep this in mind too... A degree is [just] a degree to some extent. In today's "train OTJ" world of business, frankly you can work at most anything you'd like (perhaps other than specialized engineering / doctoral careers). Studying communications [can] serve you well in a vast array of careers even outside of strictly a communications field. Sticking to college, getting a degree...that in and of itself proves a person's value to business. After that, and with strong convictions, anyone can do pretty much anything they'd like in life.
Good luck to ya!

Thanks guys .... and gals.
Yeah, talked with my advisor more over and end up that I'm not going to ditch the technology world all together. I'll be minoring in someone computer related like IT or something. I was going to IT in engineering but they don't offer that, go figure. lol I do truly believe im making the right decision looking as far as long term. So all is well and dandy. I just started making profit on my photography endeavors (importculutre.com importvelocity.com trapspeed magazine model shoots and senior pictures)
<3 Carlo
p.s. I'm trying to work my way up and try and get dave, skip, and alex into some sort of magazine. I feel that they deserve this for all thier effort they put into our community.

Carlo,
If you need contacts in Cali, I can help you out there. My cousin is engaged to Ed Bergenholtz, from Bergenholtz Racing and sponsored by Mazda. Her best friend is Sasha Singleton who has done all the import world has to offer in terms modeling, including Playboy. I'm sure you MIGHT be interested in that.

My mentor/teacher is from Cali. He shoots for importculture and has helped me a lot with models etc. He started out just like me, pervert with a camera and grew into a well respected photographer. He doesn't even shoot coverage anymore. All he does as far as import scene is drift events and models.

^ there's some of his work
He also owns www.babeblvd.com (no nudity but model shoots)
But I def will keep you in mind Peter. Thanks for the help

Carlo - I think you're making the right decision
I can only speak from my own experiences, but say that some of the most intriguing people I've met in the sales world have majored in communications. These have been very comfortable middle class people with aspirations for enjoying life instead of enjoying money
They still have toys - they just drive S2000's instead of Ferrari's

Until I got a few months under my belt with my current position I didn't realize what it meant to love your work. The more I enjoy this job the better I get which leads to: more pay, more recognition, and less "hurtful" stress (stressed - but in a good way). It feels good to have Vice Presidents and CEO's coming to me for advice.
On another note, I started College as a Computer Science major, but will finish with a BA in English and History plus a minor in Political Science. Aside from Political Science (I play politics all day) I won't get much from the other two aside from some better written communication and a more complete understanding of why the past is so important to understand if you want to go anywhere in the future (speaking of my business here).
