The Renovation Begins
That is a big project! I'm getting ready to do a complete teardown and replacement (except for the floors) of the kitchen in mine. I think you've got me beat! Good luck...looking great so far.
I would warn you, though, that condo associations can be nasty to deal with if you aren't strictly following the rules, especially if they get noise complaints. The 80% carpeting rule is pretty firm. We have an architectural review board that has to approve all changes. Yours seems to be cooperating with you, so that is a positive sign.

Thanks, Deb.
We haven't consulted the association for anything, aside from helping to fund the subfloor. We've been told as long as we're not making structural changes or exterior changes, we don't need approval. They don't have any project/specific boards - just the main board which is 4-5 people tho the board meeting this past month may be chaning that
Good luck with your project!

Well, this weekend we made some progress!
I'll get pics tomorrow, BUT... We put all of the cabinets together. Mostly Randi did it, but I did help with a couple of them
Also, I managed to get around ALL of the outside walls with that expanding foam to act as additional temperature and sound insulation. I've sealed the wall of doom up VERY well where it meets the subfloor, and there will be insulation in that wall, as well. That should help tremendously to keep sound from traveling up and down that wall.
Do, like I might have said - busy week coming up. Framing and drywall start, gotta get the electrician back in there after the framing is done, got the tile for the kitchen and entry getting started Wednesday... Going to be a week of major progress (I hope!).

Framing should be done tomorrow and some drywall. Had the electrician in today to walk through and give me an estimate... Judging solely by the fact that it took us over an hour to walk through all the electrical updates... this is going to be costly...
There is a LOT of wiring to be done.
Hopefully the tile will be in tomorrow so my guy can get started on laying that down. We've still got to figure out what to do with the cabinets that don't quite fit under the soffit/ducting once we put the legs on.
This weekend we may be in removing wallpaper, priming, and smoothing walls.
