Default Killing the car....

You know, lately I've been killing the car at stop lights quite frequently (twice in the last 2 weeks...that's 2 too many for me). I'm not sure why. It always happen later in the afternoon, when I'm doing my weekend errands. Let go of clutch, car starts to pull, give it a little gas, then jerk jerk jerk, car dies...

Clutch feels fine. Maybe I'm just tired or I'm not giving it enough gas after the clutch has engaged because my feet is still a little numb (I pinched my "sciatic" nerve about 3 - 4 weeks ago).

I dunno, if this sounds familiar to anyone please share...I think it's just me being tired, but maybe it's an indicator for something else.

Hot weather results in a different power curve than cooler weather, just give it a little more gas on hot afternoons.

mark's 2001 does the same thing. he showed it to me one afternoon. the car just idles low and surges and bucks sometimes. there have been tuning issues with the 00-01 oem ecu, i believe.

It's usually the MAP sensor or the Intake Air Temp (IAT) sensor.that causes this type of random fluctuations in RPM. IMO they all do it, even my '05 to some degree. I would consider the "Map whack" and maybe unplugging and re-plugging the connectors (look for moisture while you're at it)

when you feel the "jerk jerk jerk" what is your response? Do you keep the throttle the same? Give it more gas? or let off? In my case my car doesn't die it just keeps bucking if keeping the gas at the same rate or even giving it a little more. I'd imagine that if I eased off the throttle my car would die...
