S2K vs. Boxster S
So, I was talking with a friend at work, and he was trying to explain the Boxster S was faster in the 1/4 and on a road course. Can someone please give me some info to back up my side of the argument. Unmodified vs unmodified of course. Thanks yo!!!!
Well, I don't know which car is faster, but I do know this:
The sticker on a new Boxster S is well over $50k after you option it up, so if it's not faster, Porsche has got some 'splainin' to do.

Most speculation on the S and the Boxter S is magazine racing. According to most magazines, they are pretty evenly matched. I'd say it was all about the driver. And because of that, the S is a much better buy.

The boxstar is expensive tho so it's not worth it.

I thought that the Boxster S is supposed to be a much better match for the S, possibly maybe even probably quicker?

Based on personal experiece, the original 250hp Boxster S and '00 S2000 have about the same acceleration, with the Porsche having, IMO, better handling. Or rather, more stable handling. These days, I'd expect that the new 280hp Boxster S has the advantage in both.
The S2000, obviously, wins in price. I'm also of the opinion that the S2000 is superior in the "fun to drive" category.

Hi there,
This article is a bit dated, but it provides a fair comparison between the Boxster and S as well as other vehicles in their class.
