S2K vs. Boxster S
I have owned both. The pre-2005 Boxsters were not as fast as the Honda 0-60. They were 5.7 seconds. The 2005's are 5.4. The top speed is a little higher on the Porsche. I'm talking Boxster S here, not the standard Boxster. Both are awesome cars. The Porsche is waaay overpriced for what you get and maintenance and repairs can be staggering.

The Boxster S is faster, especially from a roll. The 986 Boxster S has 260 bhp and loads more torque and it only weighs 50kg more. The stats may look close to 60 but real world driving will mean the Boxster is faster, but not by a lot.
Porsche Boxster S = 200hp per tonne
S2000 = 191bhp per tonne
The price arguement is funny, yes they are similar cars in that they are roadsters but one is a Porsche and the other isn't. Its like comparing Ford with BMW.

You are correct moff. Ford cannot be compared to BMW and it is not fair to compare the poorer quality and high maintainence costs of the Porsche to the refinement and quality of the Honda. Give them time and they may get there but they have been at it for 50 years already and still haven't arrived.
Quality and luxury can be two different things. Sometimes you pay more for luxury, but do not necessarily get more quality. I wouldn't consider a Porsche any more reliable than a Honda. Yes, you're paying for the refinement of a hand built car and the Porsche name, but I think people forget the S was hand built also for $20,000+ less. IMO the S is an amazing car for the money to this day, 5 years later. You could argue an SRT-4 is an amazing car for the money also and that's fine. If a fast Dodge Neon is your thing and you're satisfied with Dodge Neon quality, to each his own.

gee Hpark, you speak so authoritatively! You should save that voice for when you are positive you are correct.
