I was vaccuming my 2002 S2000 for the first time when I noticed that the drivers side carpet had been cut to install the mat retention pegs. It seemed to be a professional job. I took the car to the local dealer and was told it was done routinely as part of the PDI. Seems like it should be done at the factory before the carpet is installed. Has anyone else noticed this?

On older models, I understand that it's done during PDI. On 2002 models, the carpets come pre-cut from the factory and the hooks installed. I verified this on my car before the PDI was done.
