Your driving conditions in Spain is most likely vastly different from ours here. I would strongly suggest you follow what your owner's manual says is the best choice for your particular circumstances.
My opinion is that Spain is not particularly cold, so I'm not so sure that using a 0W40 all the time is such a good idea. I know that 5W40 is one oil that Honda says we can use all year round here but it is hard to find for us.
It would seem to me that 54K miles cannot be considered high mileage.
When you say your car consumes much oil, what do you mean in terms of L/1000 miles?
And as far as change interval, again, what is recommended in your owner's manual based on the type of driving that you do. We have 2 differenct "schedules" here. One for "normal" and one for "severe". Each catorgory has a set of parameters that govern which schedule we should use. 4500 miles does not seem unusual unless your car is being used as a weekend track car.

spain gets cold as canda get warms...lol

as for the oil, id stick with the 5w40 for average driving. if your car is run hard(track event) and you feel you need lighter oil, i would look at other options such as water wetter in the coolant and even an oil cooler
