Default JR Filter users - oil analysis?

For all the JR filter users, has anyone done an oil analysis for Silicone content?

K&N is doubtful in filtering efficiencies so is the JR any better since basically they share the same philosophy of filtering.

Go to www.jrfilters.com
Much more efficient than K&N.

I have had two analyses with the JR filter and the third one is in the mail. So far, there has been no problem noted (I'm down to 6k miles using Mobil 1 10W/30 and Honda oil filters):

JEFF: Lowering the oil use interval by 1,000 miles really did not make much difference in the wear levels, so if you are comfortable with these levels, you may want to continue in the 8,000-mile oil use
range. Iron continues reading high, but we think it's going to stay up there as long as you use this oil interval. The TBN read at 10.0, showing plenty of active additive left in the oil. Insolubles (oil filtration) were close to limits at 0.5%. Silicon (air filtration) looks good at 6 ppm. No fuel, moisture, or antifreeze found.

Here's the 3rd analysis (just received, with comments and comparisons on all of the analyses):

Jeff, where do you send your oil to be analyzed, and how expensive is it?

Thanks,
Richard

I have been using Blackstone Labs at 4929 S. Lafayette St., Fort Wayne, IN 46806 (260-744-2380). It was a lab that others here have used and someone arranged supposedly better rates for the group. You might want to do a search on the threads but I've been using them for the past year or so.

I don't recall the exact charge but it's ~$20 for the basic analysis and $10 more for the advanced work useful for extended change intervals afforded by synthetic oils.

I'm in western NY (Rochester's between Buffalo and Syracuse) so the climate is temperate. I autocross and did about 12 events this summer with temps as high as 90. It's not dusty but we had little rain this summer so dust was probably above average. I do drive in the winter but I don't change tires, limiting my winter driving to dry days. That leads to dry road salt being blown around, sometimes causing a noticeable haze.

So, not particularly dusty - I'd guess more or less like your climate...

Well, if the lab results indicate everything is okay while using a JR filter, it might be time for me to order a JR filter...
