Default Hood will not close all the way

Hi all, I hope there is an easy solution to this problem. First, my '02 S2000 was deemed a total loss by my insurance after it was flooded during Hurricane Isabel, I had water (salt water) up over the center console.

I just bought a new '03 S2000, and after I got home from the dealer I noticed that the hood will not close all the way. It is latched and all, but it sticks up about 1/4 - 1/2 inch at the front.

I tried to see if the little rubber bumpers on each side were the problem, but it is not touching there I don't think. The hood seems to not be going down where the latch itself is.

I will take it back to the dealer, but if there is an easy fix I would rather do it myself. Any ideas anyone? Thanks!!

Dan

Seeing it is a new 03 i'd take it back to the dealer just in case they need to order/replace something that is bent by chance.

It should latch twice. The hood should never be pushed closed. it should be dropped closed, from about 10-12 inches. how many times can you hear it latch if you lower it slowly?

Yeah, I have always dropped the hood from about waist level too. OK, when I close it slowly, there is one click and the hood is about 1 inch from closing. Then, if you push it down more, the second latch engages. But still, the hood is higher and "jiggles" if pushed on....

The latch can be lowered by loosening then tightening the bolts.

The rubber stoppers can also be adjusted lower.

To the OP, did these suggestions solve your problem? I'm experiencing the same issue.

Thanks.
