Default s2000 hood latch problem

hi, i have a latch problem with my s2000. my hood never wants to close right. i always have to push my hood down with all my might in order for my hood to close. Today i recieved my carbon fiber hood, and it really will not close so i had to put my stock hood back on. i tried re-adjusting the hood latch but it just wouldnt close right unless i push hard down on the hood. do any of you guys know what could be the problem? thanks

how do you close it, lay it down on the latch and press, or drop it from waist high and let it close.

you are supposed to drop it, or that is how i have been doing it for about 6 months.

hey, i lay it down and let it sit on the latch, then press down on it..i have to push real hard to get it to lock and close. i was thinking that if my latch was broken, it wouldnt even lock and close..so im not sure waht the problem is..i tried to readjust the latch too. i was hoping someone might have some info on this, or encountered the same problem before.

You are supposed to drop it. Sometimes it takes a few tries. A cf hood will probably need hood pins. If you push it closed there is a good chance you will dent it, it is just aluminum.

adjust the rubber hood stops. there are 4 of them. 1 on each side in the middle, and one on each bottom corner. sounds like you have yours adjusted too high, just turn them in a couple of turns. they look like a rubber corkscrew kind of.

when i bought my car, i had that problem too: if i dropped it, it wouldnt lock, if i pushed on it, it would take forever to lock... I thought there was something wrong with the car... but in actuality, i was not dropping it from a high enough position.

hold it up so its maybe 2 feet above and just let go... it should lock into place... if u are pushing down on your hood, you are just going to dent it...
