Default Remote Door Lock From CRV

I have a spare remote door lock/unlock from a 2000 CRV. Do you know if it could be re-programmed for the S? Please post instructions if you know. Thanx!

I use my 1999 CRV remote on my S. Here is one set of programming instructions.

Thanks for the link. But I couldn't program it with either the driver's side door closed or opened.

Okay, here is how my Helm manual reads:

Transmitter Programming

Storing transmitter codes:

The codes of up to three transmitters can be programmed into the keyless receiver unit memory. (if a fourth code is stored, the code which was input first will be erased.)

NOTE: It is important to maintain the time limits between the steps. Make sure the doors, the hood and the trunk are closed.

1. 1.Turn the ignition switch ON (II).

2. Within 1 to 4 sec., push the transmitter lock or unlock button with the transmitter aimed at the receiver in the passenger's multiplex control unit.

3. Within 1 to 4 sec., turn the ignition switch OFF.

4. Within 1 to 4 sec., turn the ignition switch ON (II).

5. Within 1 to 4 sec., push the transmitter lock or unlock button with the transmitter aimed at the receiver in the passenger's multiplex control unit.

6. Within 1 to 4 sec., turn the ignition switch OFF.

7. Within 4 sec., turn the ignition switch ON (II).

8. Within 1 to 4 sec., push the transmitter lock or unlock button with the transmitter aimed at the receiver in the passenger's multiplex control unit.

9. Within 1 to 4 sec., turn the ignition switch OFF.

10. Within 4 sec., turn the ignition switch ON (II).

11. Within 1 to 4 sec., push the transmitter lock or unlock button with the transmitter aimed at the receiver in the passenger's multiplex control unit.

12. Confirm you can hear the sound of the door lock actuators. Within 1 to 4 sec., push the transmitter lock or unlock button again. The keyless receiver is now in the program mode. You must push the transmitter lock or unlock button of the first transmitter again to program that remote.

13. Within 10 sec., aim the transmitters (up to three) whose codes you want to store at the receiver, and press the transmitter lock or unlock buttons. Confirm that you can hear the sound of the door lock actuators after each transmitter code is stored.

14. Turn the ignition switch OFF, and pull out the key.

15. Confirm proper operation with the new codes(s).

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My notes:

You don't have to worry about where the passenger's multiplex control unit is, just sit in your car and follow the directions (you can point the transmitter at your left foot if you want).

By the way, you can program more than one car to use the same transmitter (my '99 CR-V transmitter operates my S2000 locks), meaning you don't have to carry a whole pocketful of transmitters.

I have to try that again. I followed the older instructions that were floating around, but they didn't work for our CR-V.

On my old 02 CR-V when I open glass door with the remote, the trunk in my s2000 also pops up!

Thank you both for the instructions! I got up to the programming mode, but the extra remote does not work. I can only deduced that the remote was not from the CR-V, but rather the extra remote from either a 1996 Civic or 2000 Accord. I no longer have any of those cars, so I can only guess.

During "step 13", did you make sure to press the buttons on all of the remotes you want programmed? Furthermore, are the batteries in all remotes still good? (they should have a little red LED at the top.. if it doesn't blink when a button is pressed, the battery is dead)
