Looking to get a new head unit that also has a gps in it. This one also has a 40gb hard drive which would be nice so I wouldn't have to carry cd's or an ipod around. I had read that a lot of the aftermarket head units don't work with the factory dash controls. Is there something I have to look for to know if it is compatible or not? Is there any way to make it work if it won't as it is?

the DCI mentioned = "dash control interface" which is what you need for
the dash controls to work with any aftermarket headunit.

 

I dont think its a good idea to drive while looking down to find your road. but sure its a nice HU
