i guess you could just dynamat everything, but wouldn't you rather find out which areas are the problem areas and then dynamt just those areas? but if not, Dynamat has seperate kits for the doors and trunks.
I read a lot of materials myself before I started doing my setup.
I would say the following.
1. It is a noisy roadster and you will never get a luxurious sound deadening there.
2. Since it is really low to the road, I wouldn't recommend to cover the floor, but it is up to you.
3. The most important areas to cover are the following (IMHO):
3.1 doors (because of the speakers and you don;t want vibrating and rattling or smth like that)
3.2 front fireshield(under pedals area and passenger) - because fo the engine noise.
3.3 Trunk area under the top booth - (tranny noise)
3.4 central tunnel - (tranny noice)
Personally, I just did doors and central tunnel, and I can barely notice reducing the noice level (I used Demplifier Pro). I'm planning to use SecondSkin overKill on the doors above demplifier and probably will cover central tunnell and fireshield.
In term of how much Dynamat you need, I would by a bulk pack and forget about that It is enough to cover whole car.
Wow... that was some great pics and info. I think im going to need 2/3rd of that since I dont think I want to do the floorboard. The doors and as much of the trunk as possible is probably what I'm going to do.
Correct.
I have 165 K2P (uv) for the front and 130 KP for the rears. I previously used the back panels but now going to SPODS.

Ohhh, nice!
I have K2P (uv) in the door, please update us when you install 130KP in the back and let us know the impressions, because I'm still not sure if I need something in the back of the cabin
Freek,
You definitely don't need anything in the back. But, it sure is nice. I originally chose to mount my rear speakers on the rear panels.
I have used this setup for 2 years. You still get rear fill, but so much is blocked. I also mounted the passive x-overs on the panels for the rear speakers.
This took away legroom from my taller passengers.
I also use an AudioControl active x-over-eq.
I have heard the S-PODS and was personally blown away.
I am in the middle of "re-doing" my trunk now so that I can also carry around my spare and jack.
It is not complete yet:

DQXS and a DDC...I thought I was the only "Over the Top" guy here.
I'm using the DQX, DDC combo along with an Epicenter in my S. I love the DDC and the ability to preset multiple EQ settings depending on top up, top down, rock, alternative...whatever.
The Epicenter is a must for ipod sound quality.
Where did you mount your DDC?? Mine is mounted in the radio door.
The DQXS and DDC are awesome!! Right now, I have it in the secret compartment. I hate it there! (The cord is stored below so I always have to push the cord back in)
I have been doing alot of tweaking lately, and I need it in front. 3 minutes ago, I ordered a flexible gooseneck mount from arkon.com. I don't know if it is going to work.
I have thought about mounting inside the door, but, I didn't think that it would fit. Do you have a picture?
Thanks,
Thraak
No pic yet...I'll try and get one taken tomorrow. PM me your e-mail and I'll send it to you....Dale
