Creaking/Groaning From Clutch Pedal
As of the last few weeks, when I press the clutch in (engine running or not), the travel is not smooth like it used to be. There seems to be resistance going down or up, kind of like when you run your hand over a piece of glass. I looked at the fluid, and it looked a little dark, so I flushed it and replaced the fluid with new Honda brake fluid, but there was no change in the pedal action. I had my wife press on the clutch pedal when I was under the car and it sounds like the noise is coming from the pressure plate area. The clutch itself has never been abused and it doesn't slip (but I do have the clutch buzz, I just haven't been to enthusiastic about having a dealer perform the TSB).
Any one else experienced this or have any ideas as to what it could be?

Could be 2 things:
1st, could be the throw out fork pivot ball needs a little shot of some High temp grease. Remove the boot for the throwout fork, remove the 2 bolts that hold on the slave cylinder and then lube the socket where the ball of the slave cylinder comes in contact with the throw out fork. Re-assemblte and recheck the noise, if it's still there, more than likely, it's
2, an excessive amount of clutch material built up on the input shaft of the transmision. This mixes with the Sylglide lube used to lubricate the throwout bearing on the input shaft.
Requires removel of the trans and cleaning the shaft...Might also want to check the clutch thickness while your in there...
Just finished up with mine... Took about 5 hours to R&R trans...
Hope this helps...
