Default Centerforce clutches?

While at SEMA yesterday, i picked up a new centerforce catalog and noticed that the they offer a new clutch kit for the s2000. Its a dual friction disc with a stronger pressure plate. Not positive, but i blieve retail was somewhere in the 700 - 800 range.

I was wondering if any of you have used this yet or anything similar to it on another car. Getting the idea of putting a better unit in and am going through the options available.

Sorry, I don't know a thing about these but a search turned up quite a lot of threads about it.

Centerforce clutches are popular with the V8 powered muscle cars. They have a very stiff/hard feel. the clutch feels lighter with increased RPM.

doc, are you thinking of going FI or are you replacing on an NA that is nearly worn out?

I dont think the "feels lighter at high RPM" applies to the Honda clutches because they are 8", as opposed to the domestic size (10"??) I called them a while ago and apparently the Honda clutches don't have the sliding weight system.

Asura, def not going FI. Already getting into enough trouble on the track

Just looking at options available for my factory replacement.
The reason i was asking about these guys was the fact that they only offer one clutch for the S2000, their dual friction line, which as you say, is designed for high horsepower or FI cars. Just was wondering if it would be over kill for a built NA S2K.

Chris, you are correct, this kit does not contain the weights.

Centerforce was the best you could get of the V8 street / drag clutches at one time. That good rep may or may not mean anything when it comes to this application. I have also found that what makes a good drag clutch may not be the right thing on the road course. We really won't know until a few are tried.

Mine is an 02

I dont really have any issues except for the minor slip hear and there. Overall, i like the feel of the OEM set up, i think it just needs a better pressure plate.

Besides centerforce, ACT was the other i was looking into.
