Gotta agree with your statement. Why on earth would you buy a 12 year old sports car as a daily driver? There could be a multitude of things that are wrong. Tracking down 14 years of service is pretty hard.

Thanks a lot for the reply's, I've actually got a Talon and a Jeep for daily drivers.

I love the NSX, it is the car that would get more attention, but that's not what I'm after, I want a car that I love the looks of, that is reliable, and that I will enjoy driving through the mountains. I think the largest problem with the NSX is the age and the fact that I don't feel like spending months searching for one in great shape.

I'm about 90% sure that I'm going to go for the S2000. Thanks again for the quick replies.

Good advice from several people. They are right; if you need/want a warranty, then an early model NSX is not the one to choose. OTOH, if you get a 02-05 NSX, you'd have a warranty. :-)
Although the NSX is made by our beloved Honda Motor Co. and is reliable, early model NSX "maintenance" (window regulators, speaker amps, climate control unit, and a few other issues) can add up quickly since its out of warranty - that's why I said it takes a looooong time to find a good one.

The S2000 is a great choice. We are looking for one too. Hope to find a good 04-05 to add as a daily driver. Best of luck with your search.

If you don't have deep pockets then I suggest getting the s2000. I personally love the nsx ever since its debut. Even though it is an old car...it is still a timeless car and still turns heads today. I like the s2000 also but I disagree with people about a car being a decade old and being no good......this is not a buick or ford you are talking about......The nsx is a limited production hand made exotic car and based on F-1 technology. Such technology has trickled down to the s2k today. Finding a clean one is tasking as it took me a year to find a clean one myself. High mileage is not an issue as long as all the services has been done(clutch, timing belt, water pump, snap ring range etc). Parts such as oem or aftermarket cost major bucks for the nsx due to the fact that it is a low production car.

I don't think people who own the F40 are complaining that the car is over 14 years old. Also to let you know the 91-94 nsxes are actually the best to own for performance wise since they are coupes, no power steering, and OBD 1. Like I said I really like the s2000 and plan to get one soon but the nsx is in another league of its own. So if you got deep pockets get the nsx......if you don't get the s2000....this is not knocking on the s2000 either as it not being expensive to own but the nsx generally will cost more for parts and mods.

If you want someone who can tell you about both cars you can talk to Jon Martin at Cerritos Acura (562)402-5281.....he is the Honda/Acura Guru and knows both cars inside and out.

If you want a fun car that will be easier on your pockets then get the s2000.....if you want exotic car get the nsx but it won't be cheap to play with it......just depends on how your budget is. Good luck on your decision they are both great cars but in different leagues.

Here is also a link to a nsx and s2k meet we had last year.

If you can afford to get a 02+ rock it. If you can only afford an 92 the i wouldnt recomend it unless you have deep pockets like others said. Its going to be a tall task to get a mint condition 14 year old car.

When i was in the market for one last year i did alot of looking around but gave up after a few months because nothing really special stood out. Of course i had my heart set on a Zanardi which are pretty rare but hey a guy can wish cant he? Maybe I can pick up one up in a few years after the Biz gets settled in and i get some property. I've already got my TOY car the S2000 and dont have any regrets.

Went through the same thing and ended up with a new S2k. I couldn't see spending that much for a high mileage, all be it good condition 92 NSX. Besides, I really wanted a 97 to get the 6spd and more power. To find a well maintained, nice 97 +, you need around $45k and some time to hunt one down. Then I looked at the S2k, for $15 thousand dollars less and it was an easy decision.
