I met John Martin at NSXPO 05 amd he's a extremly knowledgeable guy. Literally gave me the shirt right off his back.

Finding the right one is the hardest part. It took me 1 and half years to find mine. The money was burning a hole in my pocket but I wasnt willing to settle.

The GFCP is very addicting, trust me... I know

We closed the deal on a 2004 S2000 tonight (will pick the car up on Saturday). It's a Silverstone/Black, original owner with only 10K miles with OEM front lip, side skirts and trunk spoiler. It also has an upgraded stereo, speakers w/ sub + amp added. It looked and drove like new and we couldn't pass up such a good deal.

I still love my NSX, but driving that S2000 was fun. The S2000 is our first convertible and I never really knew how fun going topless would be. The car is for my wife, but I see myself "stealing" it from her on sunny days.
Congrats, mickeylex.

Once you've gone topless, you never go back!

Congrats mickeyalex!

I had my 01 Spa s2000 and said goodbye to her about 6 months ago and have been missing it dearly ever since....the m3 is nice but it's not a topless s2k for sure.

Was supposed to buy an 02+ NSX to hold me over till my 997 turbo arrives but the way the newer NSX's hold it value, I decided to pass on the NSX. It's a nice car if you buy a newer 02+ but no way if you buyin an older one IMO.

If you owned the NSX since new it's ok but I don't want to buy a used car that is 10+ years old.

Anyways long story short I picked up a new 05 Rio Yellow S2000 to play with for a while and this time I don't think I'll be selling anytime soon.

I drove a '91 black NSX for a while, and I'm going to have to say I would have gone with the S2000 as well (and in fact, I'm in the process of that myself.)

The NSX is a hell of a sports car, but the S2000 is a more fun package over all IMHO. First off, the NSX is scary to push because it doesn't respond to the driver progressively. Instead it gives a solid 120%, and then it snaps out of control.

The traction control system on the 91 was also just... bad. Any work required on an NSX, and an older one is sure to need work sooner or later, is terribly expensive at a dealer.

I'd still own both if I could, driving an NSX is a wholly different experience than driving any other car. And manual steering owns all

The way i see sports cars is like the way i see girls. Id rather have the youngest least tapped girl i can get. Being with an older chic that has obviously slept with other guys worries me about the wear and tear on her um parts. Then again shes got experience and still looks uber Hot.
02+ coupe if i could find one or a Zanardi edition.

Everyone has their own opinion and thats great but they are two different cars in different leagues.

Like I said my car's suspension is set up better than a type-r nsx. Once you add the type-r braces, a good coilover system(corner weighted and balanced), and a good rear strut bar then you will be good to go. I am basically at the furtherest you should go as far as putting in more suspension parts due to ride comfortness. Depending on how your driving skill is that will tell how the car should really handle. The NSX is a great car to drive especially if you are an experienced driver to take it to its limits. There is so much that a lot people don't know about the car as far as suspension and adding the OS GIKEN to it. Good luck to whatever you choose like I said but I will take a NSX over a S2000 anyday. I like both cars but if it had to be choosing only one car first I would take the NSX hands down anyday.

Good luck both cars are great but the nsx is better.

How can you really say that the NSX-R's suspension is inferior to yours? Must be quite a set up you've got. Its a shame the NSX-R's aero isnt on the standard cars.

Also what made you choose a 91-96 over the 97+. The 97+ has a bigger motor moer hp better gearing better clutch set up etc. Also they managed to work out most of the bugs by then. Im curious.

The stock nsx-r suspension is good don't get me wrong.....but its still factory suspension. If you read in my post earlier I said I do have the nsx type-r braces that make a difference in the understeering for the earlier models like mine.

Shown here http://scienceofspeed.com/products/exterio...ent/default.asp

The coilovers that I have are basically one step below the Motons which are the JIC's FLT02's shown here.

http://jic-magic.com/productsjic_susp_flta2.htm

The Motons 4 way adjustable are the best shown here but are pricey which I plan to get later on: http://scienceofspeed.com/products/suspens...ucts/NSX/Moton/

Yes the 97+ is a bigger motor by .2 liters but I am getting the 3.8L stroker motor done by Jon Martin which is about 331whp and has room for improvement.

As far as the clutch, gearing and all that....nothing on my car will be stock......I am getting one of that last few ultra featherweight flywheels left for the nsx unless theres another order of 50..... also adding the OS GIKEN LSD and the centerforce clutch built by Mark Basch.

OS GIKEN shown here: http://scienceofspeed.com/products/drivetr...s/NSX/OS-Giken/

I asked Jon M. about doing a 6 speed swap and he told me not to waste my money.

So as you see my car is already set up better than the type-r....the only difference of course is I do not have the hood or the wing which I don't really care for......that stuff is good when you are going top speed and I live in LA so theres not much top speeding around the freeways here.

The nsx-r is a very special car no doubt but any nsx with the right parts added to it can be better on any given day. Obviously stock vs stock the nsx-r wins hands down....but mines isn't stock.

I chose it because it I did not want t-top and handling wise the coupe is better.
Also there is no power steering on the earliers ones.
Also it is OBD 1 so if you want a lot of power...... which most aftermarket parts are made for it is the right one to pick.

Look I am not here to pick a fight with anyone or to sit here and debate all day.....you have your opinions and I have my facts and opinions.

I am no expert but I do listen to the experts....the s2000 is a great car and more practical. They are great cars for the short track and s2000 guys are great guys just like NSX guys.......at least most of them.

Need anymore info? Talk to Jon Martin like I said and do your research on how much parts cost for NSX vs S2000.

You want a oem nsx-r hood? No problem $10,000.00
http://daliracing.com/v666-5/catalog/index...t.cfm?focus=889

You want oem type-r wing? No problem $6000.00
http://daliracing.com/v666-5/catalog/index...t.cfm?focus=877

You want Brembo Indy big brake kit? No problem $8000.00
http://www.scienceofspeed.com/products/bra...Gran%5FTurismo/

You can always buy the knock off stuff for half the price as far as hood and wing goes and many other things.

OS GIKEN LSD -$3000.00 plus installation so almost $5000.00
http://www.scienceofspeed.com/products/dri...s/NSX/OS-Giken/

Superchargers you can get for discount at $8000.00 plus the
http://www.comptechusa.com/store/350010.html
AEM EMS at $1500.00
http://www.scienceofspeed.com/products/eng...EMS/default.asp
Plus the install and labor.

Exhausts will run from about $1000 all the way up to $4000 plus tax and shipping.
http://daliracing.com/v666-5/catalog/index....cfm?focus=1718

Clutch between $1000 and up all the way to $5000.00 from what I have seen. Not including labor of course for any of these items.

So good luck whatever you choose you will be happy....I love both cars but the NSX is better regardless of what year and will burn your wallet way more if you decide to mod it a lot.

If you plan to mod the NSX lightly you will be fine....if you plan to mod it heavily then be ready to pay up.

By the way the 95-96 NSX's are the worst ones to get. Those are the one who had some bugs. So either buy 97-05 or 91-94....or just get a s2k and call it a day.
