Hey guys, i didnt know where to look so im hoping you guys can help me find the differnce between 2000 and 2001 models. Im looking into 2 different cars and wanted to know the difference between years. Thanks Nick

there aren't any notable differences (if any) between 00-01. They changed after 01 though. You get a glass rear window instead of plastic and a better (but still crappy) stereo.

After 03, the engine got bigger and you got bigger wheels, different suspension etc...

 

That are almost the same.

01 has a clock on the radio, 00 has no clock.
01 has spa yellow as a color, 00 does not
the stock cutch on the 00 feels heavier then a stock 01 cutch

 

In my personal opinion, you're better off getting an '02 and up. Here's why:

I read somewhere also that Honda added something more to the doors of the 02+ S2000's to increase safety in case of collision.

 

00 It was an option to get the windscreen
01 The windscreen became standard

 

eh there were some mechanical/TSB fixes from 00-01. take a look a a TSB list for both cars and you will see. I wouldn't (and didn't) hesitate to purchase an 00 over an 01 though.

 

I would try and go with 02+ mainly for the glass window and reworked tranny for smoother shifting.
