Default Audi S4 Avant driver checking in

Greetings all. I thought I would introduce myself before making any posts. I will probably be lurking as I am not an owner. I'm stationed in Washington state in the US Coast Guard and my 01 Audi S4 Avant is the perfect car for the northwest - but hopefully I'll be transferring somewhere hot this summer - TX, LA, FL, HI - and am hoping to trade in on an S2K when I do

I'm a long-time wagon lover, but in the future all I will really need is a car to carry myself and a set of golf clubs. The S2K seems like the perfect move after owning the Audi for a few years - more reliable, better gas mileage, tighter steering and gearbox. I've been working on fixing all the little electronic bugs my Audi has and I'm done with crappy German electronics!

Well, anyway, hope to see you around the forums

(BTW my screenname is the license plate of the first car I built, a 1971 Datsun 240Z with a Chevy V8 - Quick Datsun)

Welcome, I used to be a big Audi guy but have reverted to other brands.

I used to own a B5 A4 2.8 Avant, B5 A4 1.8T, B6 A4 2.0T, and finally a B6 S4. I so love the B5 Avants.

Welcome and good luck. I did have the Golf club test in the trunk and the S passed. Later that day, I purchased the car!

Too bad now, I couldn't fit it.

Thanks guys....

I used to be into trackdays and the S4 is a perfect haul vehicle for a motorcycle as you can see in the pic, but I quit riding after I got into golf (getting old I guess, LOL - I'm 25).

All I really need is space for myself and some clubs! I may go test drive an 05 tomorrow, no intentions to buy, but I always like getting hands-on and playing with all the buttons, knobs, and compartments.... Will definitely do the golf club fit test.

if it comes to it, there are trailer hitches for the s2k, if you need to bring extra to the course...

Golf clubs fit. You'll probably have to take the driver out of the bag.

Nice S4 avant! Great cars.

Welcome. My clubs fit perfect (carry bag) and I don't remove my driver (Taylor Made R7). Club heads go in first to the left, lower the bottom of the bag to the right.

Good Luck,
