Buying AP2 for $5k tomorrow
UPDATE FROM THE MECHANIC!!
This text is what the seller forwarded to me earlier from the mechanic:
"Replacing the vtec solenoid, pressure plates, a cracked retainer, and I've noticed a grind up on starting which is the starter sticking. The previous owner (girl) took no maintenance of this car I see besides keeping gas and changing the oil but I'll have it back to new"
So that's where it stands right now. He started working on it at 3pm today, and their goal is to get it to me this weekend. He didn't say anything about a belt this time, so not sure what happened there. It's a bit over my head at this point, so looking for some more opinions and/or advise.
Still something I should go for, no questions asked? Does this new information tell you guys anything else that I should be concerned about? Thanks for any input, I'm hoping tomorrow will be my first actual chance at seeing the car, ready or not.

While every one is entitled to their own opinion, and we all can agree that $5,000 for this s2000 is more then a slamming deal, I don't understand how you can justify wanting to deplete your funds for this s2000 while having a car payment on your Evo. I know we all love our cars on here, no matter what you drive but haven't you ever considered selling your Evo, eliminating your car payment and purchasing something more within your means? I don't mean to bash you I just don't really understand your logic, it's a lot harder to get a head if you keep walking backwards. Just thought I'd add my .02 cents to the conversation, as everyone is hung up on this spectacular deal. Either way, best of luck to you in your future endeavors, I guess I'm just programmed differently than most.
why are you still waiting and haven't checked it out YOURSELF YET???? you keep letting the girl bring the car to her mechanic and both of them just tell you stories of this and that. go look at the car yourself already. judging from your modified evo x, you should know about cars.
and btw the title says buying an sk2 for 5k "tomorrow" lol... "tomorrow" had already been 6 or 7 days ago.
