I'm 99% sure that we are being trolled right now, after going through all the four pages of comments and the seller constantly finding something wrong with the car i think either YOU or THEM are effing around and making this for the shits and giggles, or maybe you guys on the evo forums are just bored ? . also one of the main tell tale signs that this thread is complete b.s is the ex's friend who is so considerate and wants to give the car to the next owner in pristine conditions, c'mon the broad gets up at 4:00 pm in the afternoon from partying the previous night she's selling her car for a ridiculous price (because she obviously does not care for it and prob didnt even buy it) and yet she is soo worried that when it gets to you its running like when it rolled out of the factory ?c'mon really. also i love the way that problems just keep popping up, vtec solenoid here changing a belt there etc, from the story it says girl owned... how much could she have abused the car? i dont judge a book by its cover but from the pics you provided the car looks like it was owned by someone who gave a shit, not some drunkard
also just for evidence's sake some more pics of your gf will be needed with a slightly higher angle, ya' know just to make sure but if this is all real, then i wish you the best of luck man paying 5grand for an S is an opportunity that does not present itself often if at all.

I hope this is legit. If so, fingers crossed that the deal doesn't fall through. I could see a wealthy young party girl not caring how much $$ she sells it for.

Sorry guys for the late update...the plan is till on for me to get the car. There are complications on me seeing the car, and I'll try to explain it in a way everyone can understand. This is by far not a troll thread. Remember, she has only listed the car for sale this cheap to her very selective friends on facebook. It's simply a huge hook-up, it happens with rich people.

The initial plan is to keep it bone stock. If anything, I would focus on tires and suspension. Athough, I've watched a lot of S2K youtube videos over the last couple of weeks, so keeping it stock motor wise I'm sure would be difficult!

If you do end up with this car, running or not, consider it a miracle.
Well, she(original owner)is not the only one who has driven the car for it's 126k miles. I know she didn't care who drove it, because she even offered to let me "borrow" it for a night, before we even met. It's not like she paid for the car in the first place, so I'm going to assume it's been abused some. I know some of the guys they hang around definitely go to the track. As far as the pressure plate, I'm not sure, and that's one reason I joined this forum...to learn more about the car before I get it.

Not a troll man, just looking for advise, thanks.

I know we all love our cars on here, no matter what you drive but haven't you ever considered selling your Evo, eliminating your car payment and purchasing something more within your means? I don't mean to bash you I just don't really understand your logic, it's a lot harder to get a head if you keep walking backwards. Just thought I'd add my .02 cents to the conversation, as everyone is hung up on this spectacular deal. Either way, best of luck to you in your future endeavors, I guess I'm just programmed differently than most.
Thank you sir, that's the kind of thing I need to keep thinking about. Financially, I should take that advise all the way. My insurance would only go up $40/month to add this car. If this car can stay reliable, I think I can pull off owning both. If not, I can go from there and sell the Evo if I have to. It's an '08 with 24k miles on it, and I owe $15k, so I should be able to get out of it pretty easily.

and btw the title says buying an sk2 for 5k "tomorrow" lol... "tomorrow" had already been 6 or 7 days ago.
Things don't always happen when you want them to unfortunately. I am trying to be as patient as possible. She has not given me the true opportunity to look at the car. However, she updates me daily. It's basically boiled down to..."it's very close". I texted her today..."if it cranks, I'll take it today". The earliest I'll be able to see it is Thursday or Friday. And I'm honestly not very mechanically inclined, Evo or not, that's why I'm letting her and her mechanic friend take their time.

Here's the deal, and I know it sounds crazy, because it is. She won't give me her address. So of course I was like wtf, right. She's a very private person, and knows she's being ridiculous about that. She's always been that way though, so I don't think it's really weird of her. She wants the mechanic to come get me, and take me back to her house. Then, he will go over the car with me. At that point, I should have the chance to drive off with it.

I'm going to continue playing her game, if it is in fact one, until it's over. I still feel like I can win this game, and get the car. I do not let psycho chicks play me! I've already put her in her spot once before ha.

I'm gonna give you cliff notes on how this can happen. Rich girl's parents buy her an S2k. She moves to GA with the car, and continues her bad drug habbits. She goes to rehab and leaves the car at the seller's house. Seller took her "friend" to court over the car being parked at the house for months, and the original owner just gave in and signed the title over. Now, new rich owner is trying to sell it to a car enthusiast friend (me) at an incredible price, because she can.

Exactly man. She honestly could care less. To put it in perspective, it's probably like the majority of us trying to sell a car part for $100-200 bucks. If it's to a friend, we'd probably hook them up super cheap (like $50), and want to make sure it works perfectly for them..and even install it for them.

My new plan is this. I have the cash at work. They are supposedly working on the car as I type, still. Once they say it's running, I'm going to ask them to meet me somewhere with the car and title. That's when I hope the transaction can take place. Even though the seller and I have had a somewhat rocky past, I feel like she is being completely genuine about this deal. I just can't beat her up to death about it, and blow her up like a crazy guy. Good things come to those who wait

Thanks again for all the input and opinions, I really do appreciate it. All comments are more than welcome, and you guys will see that I'm not trolling. Hopefully I'll have some major good updates in the days to come, this is far from over trust me!

Really, good luck!

Just think, once you go through it for repairs/maintenance, you could sell the Evo and own an s2k free and clear. How great would it be to have an s2k in the drive with no car payments! Really, I hate car payments; they are a financial sink hole for many young people (and many older people).

Still seems a bit shady to me, rich people are usually financially savvy. Regardless of their disposition on the income that they earn, any moron can spot a bad investment a mile away. Why dump money into a car that you plan on selling way below kbb? Honestly, even the small things that the car needs, albeit not too expensive if you're changing it yourself, can cost an arm, leg, and your first born child if given to a mechanic. Alongside the charges for the parts, I'm sure the labor is bound to exceed whatever price you've both agreed on. Honestly, if you already have a modded car, I would purchase a gas efficient vehicle for 5k and continue to keep your evo as your toy. To each their own though, I could be wrong and you could be just dealing with some crazy ass woman! Best of luck in your purchase.

This thread reminds me of these pranks I used to do to my friend in college. I would post up pictures of awesome stock cars with a supposed 80-90k miles on it ( 240sx,miata,s2000,wrc,etc.,) and then put a reasonable but low price for them on craigslist. It was always hilarious to see them get blown up by people's phone calls! Especially since they didn't even know a thing about cars!
