Checking oil, which side of dipstick?

Despite what the manual says I've always checked my oil dead cold on the level floor in my garage before starting the car in my '00.
With 53K on the clock (30K with a Comptech blower) the dipstick always reads the same on both sides if I remove it, wipe it, reinsert it, then check it.

Maybe I diddnt let it sit long enough before checking.I was driving spiritedly on my way home from work.needed gas and after half tank fillup( day before payday lol) and said hell I havnt checked my oil in like 4-5 days.and pulled.wiped from top to bottom reinsert.pull check.I'll check again in the morning lol but I did clean it all the way
