I went with a Berlina Black AP1. Great condition with only 52k miles on it for 12,500 from a dealership. It was a deal I couldn't pass up. I actually just got back from driving around the twisties. The evening was just too nice, I couldn't resist dropping the top. Nothing like driving drop top in the middle of winter. AP1 is definitely a great car but I don't think you could go wrong with either. It's nice to see the RPM keep climbing though. After driving a WRX and an EVO it takes some getting used to not to shift around 7k.

Lol, I know what you mean. I test drove a few S2ks this weekend and I was shifting at 4500-5000 rpms all the time. Just the sound of the engine makes you want to shift. I currently have an 07 WRX, stage 2, and will be picking up an 05 Silverstone S2000 tomorrow afternoon. Straight line speed is great, but you can't beat that feeling of being connected to the road. I am sure I will be very happy with my choice. Now to find some good winter tires and cheap wheels....

MY03 are attractive deals, incorporated some nice details (glass rear window, little more cowhide in the interior) over the earlier years while still retaining the rawer nature. AP2s are also very nice, a bit more comfortable. Many guys have updated the looks of their AP1s w/AP2s front ends and consoles, which is also an option. In any event, winter is a great time to buy, regardless of AP1 or AP2. Be sure to check out the FI forum, the gurus over their have a wealth of knowledge and experience. Good luck.
