Default f@#k up with tct

While I was resealing my s2k for oil leaks I removed the timing chain tensioner. Life was good until I started it up after job was done apparently I dropped a piece in engine. What do you recommend I do. I made a bad rattle and when I removed it again the thin spring was gone. What should I do

can you locate where it dropped into? only way im thinking is DO NOT start the engine , get a magnet and try to get it out like that only way i know...

What happened? Was the TCT put back together incorrectly?
