Guess what?
Hey fellas! It's my second post. I think I made my first a couple days back, stating my interest in getting into an S2000.
Well, guess what? I just bought one yesterday! Traded my 2006 MazdaSpeed6 GT in for a 2007 S2000 in Berlinetta Black!
Impressions? Wonderful car. My first car was a 2005 Mazda RX-8. I thought that car had a magical chassis. The S2000 is now my new magic. I have never owned something this hardcore, and I'm loving every second of it, top up or down!
I will be tracking the ever loving shit out of this car, and I'm hoping to participate in Redline Time Attack in the 2011 season!
Now, I have a couple of questions. I've read the FAQ, and did the inspection as such. Is there anything else I should know about this car? What does it NOT like? e.g., my MS6 had a serious dislike for hitting boost in 6th gear. People blow up stock motors like that. I know it's a Honda, and I'm absolutely not used to my cars being reliable. I'd like to think the S2000 is reliable, but something keeps telling me it isn't all Civic reliable.
I also want to connect my iPhone 3GS to the OEM stereo. The car came with a cable from the previous owner (I think), but I've yet to figure out how to make it work. I think my best bet is to get a new harness and such to connect to my 3GS. What's the best iPhone 3GS compatible kit on the market for S2000s?

Congrats.
The car is very reliable and there really aren't any major problems.
Also do yourself a favor and throw out the stock radio, it's garbage. Get yourself a radio with an auxillary out and get an auxillary cable and then you can hook your iphone up.

I really don't wanna swap the stock radio out. The primary purpose of this car is the track, so I don't wanna spend money on things that don't decrease lap times.
Unless you know of a quality head unit that isn't garbage that's also lighter than stock.

Congrats on the new hwhip (stewie style). I'm sure youll love it.
Ha..., speaking of earbuds. I do have a pair of Shure SE530s for a reason..., maybe I should just learn to settle!
Also, I heard the S2000 came with adjustable Showa coilovers? Really? I don't see any adjustment knobs on it.

I just spent 5.5 hours driving back from the girlfriend's place all the way to home. I left 10pm, and drove over night.
Normally, I'd be asleep at the wheel. But the S2000 just has this magic to it. That feeling that it DEMANDS that you pay attention, that you are in control of something truly special.
I came home at 6am, and barely felt tired. It's wonderful.
