Default Hello from Tucson

Hi All,

Been a lurker here a LONG time. Probably going back to early 2002? Was cross shopping a new S2000 and a couple used cars at the time. I ended up going with a used NSX, which I still have. I am delighted to have finally added an S2000 too after straying a bit in the interim. An all stock Suzuka 05 with 61k that needed just a little love managed to find me this last weekend. It will be a father daughter project. Car is tucked into the garage and TONs of parts are on order. I can't wait!

Looking forward to seeing some locals after the car is a bit more presentable. V/R

Thanks guys! Car is quite a bit more loved now:
  • New tires
  • New brakes pads, fluid flush, and calipers returned back to silver.
  • New oil, MTF, diff oil, plugs, filters, and accy belt
  • Valves adjusted
  • Swapped to black carpets and euro mats
  • CDV delete, fluid flush
  • A new robbins top and ceramic tint
  • and a WHOLE lot of cleaning.
Time for a mountain run I think!

Congrats and nice list of work completed.

Maybe it's just me, S2000 scene here in Tucson seems to be dead. Last major Lemmon drive I can remember was 2 years ago, crazy hot that day. I only met him on that drive but Dave JP also has a NSX, not sure if you know him. https://www.s2ki.com/forums/arizona-...emmon-1153415/

There is usually a good turnout for local auto-x though if you are into that.

Welcome! As Nate mentioned, the local S2000 scene seems to be lazy/mia these days. The Phoenix group is more active. I just took a run up Mt. Lemmon today to feel out my new suspension; I would definitely suggest doing it in the early am to avoid the traffic/heat.

Small world, thanks for the replies guys!

Nate - I think I may have met Dave years ago. Does he have a red 95 and live around Ventana? If so, I may have run into him at the Chevron at Sabino/Sunrise circa 2013. Seemed like a nice guy.

Fokker - I live just by the base of the mountain and am a regular customer. I had a run up the mountain twice yesterday. Changed the clutch/brake fluid in both cars and did the same test run. 5pm for the S and 9pm for the X. The latter was fun and uneventful, the former was substantially more interesting. It turns out I need a new clutch master, but on the bright side the car drives remarkably well if left in 4th gear the whole way home. Fluid was NASTY, so I am guessing the bleeding finally killed it. In any case, new parts on order.
