hey all i'm new here!
hey guys i'm just here to learn more about s2k's cause i personally love these cars and one of my friends is saving up to get one...hopefully i can get one in the future but i currently own an 05 sti
so does anyone have opinions on the best year of s2k's so far?

Best year is so subjective. It depends what you want from the car.
Pure thrills. . .get an AP1. 9k redline FTW. Most raw of those would be a 00 or 01, but I personally think the 02-03 is better if for nothing other than the glass rear window.
AP2's (04 on) lowered the redline so not quite as thrilling, but slightly more torque makes the car more liveable as a daily driver. Granted, I haven't driven one so I can't compare to my 03 so I'm just going by what has been said on these forums hundreds of times.
