You go to other websites like the Mx-5 Miata forum and look at what they are talking about. When the topic becomes something like "Mx-5 vs. S2000", you'll see that virtually everyone in the forum respect the S2000. There is very little negative they say about our car, even though the S is a direct competitor to their's. Same goes with the RX-8 forum.

The thing I don't understand is all the bad-mouthing from the 350Z and the Solstice forum.

If you look at the s2k, mx5 and rx8, they are all very good handling cars and that translates into fun to drive cars. If people don't like fun to drive, then it's not for them.

That 350z is heavy and it drives like it as well. Of course it's better than other cars on the road, but that's just how i feel about it when i test drove it.

I don't think there are many cross comparison's between solstice and s2k shoppers. Anything different from what people have as their own, they usually tend to bash it instead of understanding.

people who are enthusiastic about their car, are bound to have at least some bias to what they drive, it is what you should expect

I would not call the mx-5 a direct competitor for the S2000, considering the difference in power and price. The mx-5 is more of a (very good) step-in the the roadster market, much like the Z4 2.0.

Thats all they can do, show respect, they certainly can't keep up with it.

On a more seriuos note I have to agree with Ronver.

Buy one for yourself and find out

Each car is good in its own regard. Competition exists for a reason

I own a 350z and am a member of 350z-tech.com (a forum) I have posted about the s2000 (which I also love) and have found, pretty much, nothing but love for the car.

People really respect the car. Most of the complaints that I have heard from them are things like "I just didn't want a convt".

for the record, my 350z (stock) weighs about 350lbs more than a stock s2000.
...hardly a tank.
