good choice on the S2000. The other cars you mentioned are fast, but the Evo and STi are still just supped up family cars (although when I need to get a car with a backseat the STi will get strong consideration), the G35 is EVERYWHERE as is the 350Z. One thing that is great about the S is its uniqueness. THe G35 and 350Z share a frame and/or engine with a lot of cars in the Nissan/Infiniti lineup. The Evo shares a lot of parts with the Lancer and same with the STi sharing parts with the regular Impreza. The S2000 on the other hand has a 1 of a kind engine and frame. It is built to be a sports car. ENJOY

sorry to get off topic, but why is it disappointing?
just because i have a lot of confidence in their driving opinions. i'd still take an F355 over any other car if it was just for cruising around.

Jealousy is sad thing.

People that trash talk the S2K has never owned one or has never driven one... but I bet you, they wish they have one.

and you don't of the S2k? both cars have a similar magic feel, but the ferrari just grips more and goes faster and cost a lil bit more.

Yeah...the STi and EVO are simply "supped" up family cars. They most certainly DO NOT have several years or Rally technology behind them. Think Hyundai Excel with a turbo basically.

BTW...for anyone who couldn't tell, I was being sarcastic. You can hate the styling of the two aforementioned...but don't discount what they are, and certainly don't discount their performance. There is a good chance that you will end up quite humbled.

I was in a similar situation, to your's, a little over a year ago. I started off with a list very close to your's, and eventually narrowed it down to two; the S2000 and the 350Z. To make a long story short, I ended up with the Z. We can talk performance numbers until we're blue in the face...but the reality is that both of these cars are basically evenly matched. What it boiled down to for me was 1.) a hardtop 2.) less expensive....and 3.) slightly more usable as an everyday driver.

I still love the S2000 (hence my status as a member of this forum) and wouldn't be suprised if I end up owning one someday. My advice is to test drive these cars, and really evaluate what you'll be doing with it (length of ownership, how versatile do you need it to be, etc...?).

Thanks Guys!

Any Common problems that all S2K's get that I should worry about
Remember, it's rear wheel drive. You and I are about the same age, and came from a fwd just like you. It's TOTALLY different. The rear will slide out on you, and if you don't know how to counter steer (don't ever full release the throttle if it oversteers), it can get ugly. Be safe, I suggest a track day to learn your car. Other than that, wish you good health while you enjoy this fun car.

It came down to the 350Z and S2000 for me too. Thing that did it for me was the convertible top, and I wanted something that felt more nimble.
