Default I think I'm hating my S2K

I have a 2004 S2000....my second one. I had a 2001 for 4 years. I only drive the car on the weekends since I live in the city during the week and spend weekends in the country. Lately, some "squeak" started behind the drivers seat and its making me crazy! Its so irritating that last Saturday, I actually looked at a Solstice!

I can deal with the crappy stereo, but the squeak and the rattling that comes from the roof brackets has got me thinking SELL!

Please, Please, Please do not even glance at a Solstice. They're a waste of a car, and that's why they don't sell. A squeak can easily be fixed, whether it's your soft top or your seat that is making the noise. My hardtop squeaks so loud I can't even hear my stereo sometimes, and I daily drive mine.

Fix the squeak, buy a better audio setup, and keep the car.

It isn't the seat is it? When my passenger one is all the way back, it tends to rub.

i also had a seat problem squeaking but it was the seat belt rubbing on the leather seat. i also get the same when my seat is pushed back all the way...rubbing on the plastic.

I had the same problem as well.

Also check the spare tire. That started to come loose on me once and never stopped squeaking until I re-tightened it.

Thanks for the advice. I did check to see if my seat was rubbing and it is not. It just grates on my nerves! My roof does not rattle at all so no complaints there! The only other irritating noise is from the roof clamps - it sounds like there are loose marbles rolling around!

I had a 2001 which I was happy to replace because I couldn't deal with cleaning the plastic window anymore. I don't recall my '01 making the noise the '04 does and I bought it new in 2005.

Thanks again - guess I'll take it to the dealer this month and complain about "noises"!

The spare tire - thanks I'll check that out, although it sounds like its coming from inside the car.
