Introduce yourself here!
Hey all! this is a great board! I just wanted to introduce my self. my name is james, and i live in arkansas. I dont have an s2000 yet, but i will have one soon. Right now ive got an 01 base model prelude, but its just not quite doin it for the fun factor. I look forward to hangin around this board and learnin what i can.
Hello everyone.
I've been trolling this board for a few weeks now. I finally made my purchase last week, an '05 NFR. It's 99% stock (except for 20% tint on the side and rear windows). It has 49k on it, but it's Honda Certified w/warranty, and new tires all around. I've already learned alot about these cars from this forum, including the tendency to "snap-oversteer". Although I wish I had read about this before, because I almost got killed on the test drive!
Ended up doing a 180 into the middle lane of a 5 lane road. With traffic!
This car demands respect. I get it...
Anyways I ended up purchasing the car a week later for $5500 less than they were asking for it. I LOVE negotiating price.
Now I find my self driving all over the place, teaching myself heel-toe down shifting, rev matching, and all around handling this car better. I think I'm in love.

Hi all! Last week I picked up a '07 in Rio Yellow with 5K mi. Have been researching for some time before buying. Lots of great tech info here, thanks to those who have put it together. This will be my daily driver in Minnesota, been fun in the snow so far... with winter tires of course. Love the car, was just what I was looking for.
Welcome, folks!!!!! It's always great to see the newbies' reaction to their great new / used S2000s!
It's been almost 6 years for me, and the love affair continues!

For folks with pre-2004 cars, please see my earlier warnings about oil levels.
And for *ALL* of you, if you're driving in winter climates, please please PLEASE drive with care as you learn the car. Also, consider winter/snow tires as the stock tires that you have are terrible as the temperature drops.

May I present my story of introduction for consideration:
My first car was a 1969 BMW 1600 that I bought for $400, in pieces, and reassembled myself. I had to buy another one for $250 to get enough parts that worked. A few Z28's and liter-sized motorcycles followed during my SoCal years, but I always loved that lightweight stick with a rev-happy engine.
I've been "away" from cars since I left for Alaska in 1998. So I missed the S2000 introduction.
I was visiting lower 48 a couple years ago, at a restaurant in Denver, and I saw a sharp looking convertible that was debadged. I stared, I walked around it, the owner came out, and I asked him what it was. He said "It's a Honda." I could not respond. He just smiled. I stood there, slack jawed, as he got in, started up, and drove away.
Fast forward to 2007. Had not seen another example of that car since. On an unrelated errand, I drove past a Honda dealer, and found myself making a U-turn and walking inside, creeping up on one in the showroom. I sat in it. Wiped the sweat off my palms so as not to sully the steering wheel. Touched it. Forgot what my errand was, and drove home. I live in Alaska, I told myself.
October, 2007, I took a friends car to a Honda dealer for an oil change. Oh oh. There was a Berlina Black 2008 S2000 CR in the showroom. I walked all the way around it. The salesman eased up without saying a word. He just stood there. I asked him no questions. I read the sticker completely. He waited. I looked at him, looked outside. It was dry, but cool, and rain threatened soon. I looked back at him. He just said "I'll get the keys."
It had 2 miles on the odo. He first started to tell me about the stereo, I interrupted him and turned it off. He started to talk again, and I gently shhh'd him. I moved the clutch. In-out, in-out, in. Moved the shifter, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, reverse, just feeling the positions. Mirror check. Seatbelt check. Note guages, tach, dead pedal, brake/throttle relationship. Oh my. My test drive took it to 19 miles. Even at low RPMs I could tell by the rate of increasing power what promise it held. I was not as easy on the steering wheel as I was on the throttle.
I'm sure the salesman was worried...I was laughing and incoherent for most of the test drive. I pulled in to the dealership, got out, and told him to write me his best deal right now, I have to be back in a hour. He did, and I bought it.
I couldn't be happier!
Thanks for reading my story. I'm moving to AR soon, so I've got it covered, locked, alarmed, and garaged in a stealthy but occupied place until I return. I miss it. I'll drive it to FL to see the 12H of Sebring next month; I have a friend who lives near the track. That will be my first "road trip" in it.
I can't wait.

Something tells me you won't be disappointed with your CR, Keguta!!!!!
I think the new MY08 wheels are the best yet, but then again I've always been a gunmetal freak.
Use it in good health, Keguta!
