Introduce yourself here!
hey everybody
my name is john, and i recently purchased my s2000 in December of 2007 and i am really glad to be part of this community. one 15 minute test drive and i was hooked on my car! i was and still am also a VW owner, having owned numerous GTIs, but i needed something reliable and quick - the s2000 definitely fulfills that! i live in north wales, pa, about 30 minutes northwest of Philly and in the process of skimming the forums it seems there are quite a few of you from this area as well. do you PA/NJ guys meet up anywhere? i am quite definitely a hands-on owner. i love to wrench on my cars, and my s2k remained stock for about the first 2 days i owned it. the factory radio had to go first - now it's time for some Tein S-lines and a Megan cat-back, along with an OEM front lip, rear spoiler, and some light tint. i have big plans for my car, so any advice is definitely welcome! when i'm not working on cars (or motorcycles), my day job is working for Apple as a technician, as well as producing my own music, and DJing on the side. i'm totally enjoying this alternate direction from my VWs and would really like to hear from anyone who came from that arena as well. thanks are also due to those of you whose posts have already helped to influence and inform me - one day i hope to be able to return the favor!

Hey, I'm KC and I just bought an 02 Berlina Black with red interior! It has 55k on it, and the great part was, it was made in the second half of the year and came with the rear glass
I got an awesome deal on it from a private dealer auction. Already bought new blank brembo rotors for the fronts and Hawk pads since the front pads were worn anyways.
I also ordered an intake which should be ariving in a couple days! Next is probably Rick's 4.56 final drive gear set. I don't want too short of gears cuz I plan on turbo'ing it at with Inline Pro later down the road. Initial power goal was 400rwhp but after owning the car for a few days now, I realized it's pretty quick as it is and I might shoot for a more reasonable 300 to the wheels... maybe 350
Anyways, lookin forward to meeting people in the comunity and I can't wait for some dragon runs!! I had alot of fun with Team-integra when I had my 99 teg.

Hello,
My name is James. When I was 16 (1995) I bought a 1988 Toyota Pick truck with 85K miles. That has been my daily driver for the past 13 years and about 4 weeks ago it blew a head gasket (213,500 miles and all original) I still plan on fixing it myself but I figured that it was time to get e new car. I always told myself that my next car would be a sports car. Now my wife and I are about to have our first baby. I knew the S2K is just not a practical car, but since I obviously do not get cars very often I wanted to get something I would really enjoy. We alredy have a "family" car, toyota Matrix. After basically looking at cars for the past 4 years (the truck just kept running great) I got my mind stuck on the S2k. I could not bring myself to like anything else. Here is a car that is fast, agile and if driven conservatively fairly fuel efficient, which I was looking for since I I drive about 23 miles each way to work. I figured that this will be the most fun I can have on 4 wheels. So finally I got an '07 Rio Yellow and I love it. The dealer threw in window tinting so when I dropped it off to get it done they gave me a loaner '07 accord, very nice car but I just felt so ordinary, bland and boring in it, which solidified my choice in the S2000.
I'm also glad to have found such a great site with so much info.

Hi. Just bought a 2002 in blue with 40k. Can't wait for the weather to warm up.
Just love this car! Is there an FAQ I should read to learn more about the good and bad of this car or should I just browse the boards?
Thanks, Wanago

I've done my best to keep a running FAQ thread right at the top of the Intro forum, wannago. I think it's pretty good.
If you want to add anything to it, send me a personal message. That goes for everyone.
And, welcome aboard my new newbie friends!
Enjoy your cars and be extra careful this time of year. There are a lot of not-so-good drivers out there that simply shouldn't be driving in winter.

Welcome aboard! Yes, each sub-forum usually has a few "stickied" threads towards the top of the page.
